Home-Hosted Class Locations
Beckettandco.org supports both an online curriculum, as well as five, six-week terms a year in various Chicagoland neighborhoods.
With 25 years of teaching under her belt, Beckett provides a wealth of author samples, techniques, and processes pointers.
Until the pandemic resolves we will be exclusively offering our online courses, with all other classes to be LIVE STREAMED on Zoom.
Online Classes
Currently, we offer three, six-week online classes.
Memoir 1 focuses on basic content material (the what) - course includes video lectures, readings and a weekly mini Zoom meeting.
Memoir 2 focuses a little more on storytelling techniques (the how) - course includes video lectures, readings and a weekly mini Zoom meeting.
Multi-Genre focuses on everything else! From screenwriting to playwriting, solo shows to fiction, we do it all - course includes weekly 3 hour Zoom meeting for discussion and lesson.
Students will receive all materials electronically
Memoir I & II should be taken in order and both online classes include a weekly live-streaming feedback session with Nancy.
Once six writers enroll for a particular day and time we will set the start date.
Classes are capped at eight warm bodies, er, writers.
Every class is supported by Basecamp for file-sharing our writing, weekly readings and resources. No extra charge.
